Cookies and his brother is what started my love for pet rats. Cookies was, and will always be my heart rat - The one who got me through some the worst times in my life, and make the happier times even better. He was calm cuddly, and trusted us so much that he would fall asleep on our chests within two minutes. Thanks for spreading the love Cookies.

Cream is one of our original pair of boys. Him and his brother Cookies were what really solidified our love for pet rats. Due to Cream being one of the pair that came from a pet shop, he was unfortunately very scared and skittish for a while. Although mostly blind , Cream has turned into a loving old man who will start to boggle and brux 10 seconds into snuggles.

Brie was an adventurous little sweetheart who loves to play, but equally as much loves to cuddle. She is the one in the mischief to always take the lead, and won't put up with anyone being grumpy. She is the first to breed within the rattery, and was paired with Nicodemus in October 2020. True to our motto, she was where tails began. Her last night, she got to meet her great grand-daughter before flying over the rainbow bridge.

Apricot Self
Copper was one of our first girls who we were planning to breed, however after 4 attempts, she was not able to get pregnant. From then on, Copper was the aunty of the cage, and eased the babies into their new environment and showed them the ropes. She was always such a sweetheart, a true lady, who will forever be in my heart.

Peanut was one of the girls from the first litter. She had such an amazing character, and was so incredibly outgoing. She was paired once to Skipper, who in turn had lovely babies. Peanut, of course, loved peanuts.

Coco was a very outgoing boy, who enjoyed snatching up the treats from his fellow cagemates, and was somewhat the king of the castle. He also enjoyed the attention from anyone who was willing to give it to him. Coco was only paired once successfully to Bullet, but he unfortunately passed before we could pair him again.

Cashew was a lovely little calm boy who enjoyed being in the company of the rest of his cage mates. He loved head scratches the most, and always closed his little eyes. He was paired twice during his time with us, once to a Scruffians girl, and once to our girl Vulpix. He passed shortly after his brother.

Bullet is a calmer girl who enjoys cuddling, but will still enough some time playing with the rest of the mischief. She's always one to cuddle and play with the new babies in the cage, and enjoys bossing them around a fair bit too! Bullet was paired to Coco, however that litter's line is to be cut due to health issues.

Crumpet is a sweet old little lady who is the mom to the mischief, but loves cuddles and warmth! Her coat is a bad black, and has some interesting browner tones. We had hoped that that would help with the Variberk markings in NZ. She was paired to Kai in 2021, and had a beautiful litter, to which we kept Flocko to stud later on in life.

Macadamia is a very active girl who loves to play and run around! The wheel is definitely her favourite thing in her cage. Macadamia's colouring has always been interesting, which is why she stayed with A Rat's Tail. Unfortunately Macadamia never had any babies due to miscarriaging - However she is a fantastic aunt to all the babies in the cage.

Bandit has been a playful little girl since day one. She absolutely loves interacting with humans, and is so very friendly. She only ended up having one litter with Cricket (whom she was absolutely in love with), and we kept Dumpling and Dragon to continue the line!

Lilith is a calm little lady who loves cuddles and pats. Around humans, all she wants to do is snuggle up close to you, but with her fellow rats she absolutely loves to play! Her favourite activity is the pea fishing! She was paired to Darwin for her first litter, whom we kept some sweethearts from as both mom and dad were fluffy outcrosses!

Cortana is definitely the nicest girl in my mischief - She tucks perfectly when picked up, and loves belly kisses. She falls asleep nearly instantly when you have her out for cuddles. Cortana was paired once to Elliot to outcross the fluffy line - We kept out beautiful boys Geralt and Genji from that litter.

Juniper is a little shyer than her sister Dahlia, and she definitely enjoys cuddles more than her sister does.
